Product Description
High Strength PPGI Steel Coils with Zinc Coating Range from 30 to 275 Grams per Square Meter and Multiple Organic Coating Layers
Product Introduction

ChromaSteel™ PPGI is a premium composite material that combines the strength of steel with superior corrosion resistance of zinc and the aesthetic versatility of high-grade organic coatings. Unlike traditional post-painting methods, PPGI is produced through a Continuous Coil Coating Process.

The process involves cleaning, pre-treating, and applying multiple layers of organic coatings (primer and finish paint) in a highly controlled factory environment. The result is a vibrant, uniform finish that offers significantly higher durability and weather resistance than spray-painted steel. ChromaSteel™ is the preferred choice for modern architecture and high-end appliance manufacturing where both form and function are non-negotiable.

Technical Specifications & Parameters

Our PPGI is built upon a high-quality Hot-Dip Galvanized (GI) base to ensure that even if the paint layer is scratched, the underlying steel remains protected.

Feature Technical Data
Base Metal Hot-Dip Galvanized Steel (GI)
Substrate Grade DX51D, DX52D, S250GD, S350GD, CGCC
Standard ASTM A755, JIS G3312, EN 10169
Thickness 0.12 mm - 1.5 mm
Width 600 mm - 1250 mm
Paint Type Polyester (PE), SMP, HDP, PVDF
Top Coat Thickness 15 μm - 35 μm
Back Coat Thickness 5 μm - 15 μm
Zinc Coating 30 g/m² - 275 g/m²
Gloss Level Matte (10-30%) / High Gloss (70-90%)

Color & Aesthetics

ChromaSteel™ offers an unlimited palette for creative expression:

  • Color Selection: Full range of RAL and Pantone colors
  • Special Finishes: Wood grain, marble texture, brick patterns, and camouflage
  • Protective Film: Optional PE/PVC transparent film can be applied to protect the surface during fabrication and installation

Coating Layers Explained
  1. Top Finish (Clear/Color): Provides the final color, UV resistance, and scratch protection
  2. Primer: Enhances adhesion between the paint and the metal
  3. Pre-treatment: A chemical conversion layer for enhanced corrosion resistance
  4. Zinc Layer: The cathodic protection layer (from the GI substrate)
  5. Base Steel: The core providing structural integrity

Primary Applications
  1. Architectural Exteriors: Premium roofing tiles, sandwich panels, curtain walls, and rolling shutter doors
  2. Interior Decoration: Ceiling boards, fireproof doors, and wall partitions
  3. Home Appliances: Decorative side panels for high-end refrigerators, microwave ovens, and DVD player housings
  4. Transportation: Container panels, vehicle interiors, and highway signboards

Key Advantages of ChromaSteel™
  • UV & Weather Resistance: Our PVDF-coated series offers up to 20 years of color retention without significant fading or chalking
  • Superior Flexibility: The coating is designed to remain intact during bending, drawing, and roll-forming (T-bend ≤ 3T)
  • Environmental Sustainability: Factory-applied coatings minimize VOC emissions compared to site-painting
  • Cost Efficiency: Eliminates the need for a separate painting process in your production line, reducing labor and time
